Local Area Information

Ugborough is a picturesque village in the beautiful South Hams. It is peaceful with no main road going through it but it is a thriving community, with a pre-school, school, church and two pubs, both of which are very close to The Haven - come out the front door and turn left or right for The Ship or The Anchor respectively.

Please note: there is no shop in Ugborough but Ermington has a brilliant village shop and cafe, and Ivybridge has a Co-op and a Tesco Express (both Ermington and Ivybridge are only 3 miles away). There is also an enormous Tescos at Lee Mill which is 10 minutes down the A38. 

Ugborough is ideally situated for Dartmoor (only 10 minutes drive to the southern edge and plenty of other parts easily accessible) and the beautiful beaches of the South Hams (Mothecombe, our favourite, is 15 minutes drive and Bigbury/Burgh Island is about 25 minutes). 

You really need a car when staying in Ugborough in order to make the most of the area. There are buses but only once a week.
